Factory vs moly lube for driveshaft splines

I've been helping my brother spruce up his 2017 R1200GS, and during our work to check for corrosion in the shaft, we stumbled upon the old debate about spline lube. The factory manual recommends using Optomol Paste TA, but it seems like nobody carries it, plus it's moly-free. Nowadays, dealers are pushing Klübergrease LFT 71-402, which is also devoid of moly, strange, considering everything I've read insists that splines need it.

I'm leaning towards using Molykote G-N (which has 18% moly) or Loctite LB8012 (with 60% moly) for improved wear protection.

Has anyone else dealt with this issue on an older GS? I'm curious to know what grease you guys rely on for shaft splines these days.

What made you lean toward Molykote G-N over the factory-specified options, was it past experience, or just the higher moly content?
