BMW R1200 Steering Problem

Anybody messed with this thing yet? I'm striking out on the Forum and YouTube for this part. I'm scared to just shove the damper rod through one side without knowing more my K1200's damper from back in the day unscrews in the middle so yeah I'm kinda sweating it.

if my memory servs me it could either be a bolt or it could slide through but im not sure if it was model or year specific so youll need to find a repair manual or take it to a bmw service

It's tough when there's not much info out there, with the K1200 though, I know it unscrews in the middle, so I'd be cautious with the new damper. Maybe check the manual one more time if you can, or reach out to a pro who's worked on these before of if anyone here has more info
