Figuring out the right seat height for the R and RS bikes is always a bit of a pain for some people. But don't worry, guys. I've researched it here and there, and here's the overall comparison.
To know which seat you've got is to see how deep the dip is at the front. And nope, you can't just adjust the height.
Here's the lowdown on the different seats that fit R1200R LC and R1200RS LC (from 2015 onwards):
Just so you know, the "High Seat" is now the standard one for the newer 1250 model, just like it always was on the RS.
If you're buying a new bike, it's better to get the comfy passenger seat as an extra. It doesn't cost more when you order it like that, and it makes the person riding on the back way happier with more cushion and legroom. Plus, it still looks pretty good on the bike, especially if you've got a luggage rack on the back.

- Super Sporty Seat: This one's high and skinny, which is good if you wanna lean into your riding. It's an extra you can buy for both of the bike models. Height: 33.1" / Seated-arc length: 73.8".
- High Seat: This one comes standard on the RS and you can get it for the R. Height: 31.1"/ Seated-arc length: 32.3" / Seated-arc length: 72.2".
- Regular Seat: This is the normal one you get on the R, but you can also put it on the RS. Height: 70.1".
- Short Seat: This is an extra you can buy for both if you need something lower. Height: 29.9" / Seated-arc length: 67.7".
