Brute force and a little frustration go a long way.

My '11 R1200GS Adventure RDC was all over the place. Slow updates, random disconnects, and a pressure warning that had me questioning reality. Swapped the sensor batteries but kept acting like it had a mind of its own.

I gave the connector one last push (like really shoved it). And just like that, the problem was solved. Sometimes the best fixes are just aggressively convincing the bike to cooperate!

Sounds like it just needed a firm talking to! Glad a good shove was all it took to get those RDC gremlins sorted. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the most satisfying (and least wallet draining!)

Haha, exactly. It was like the bike just needed a pep talk and a nudge in the right direction. Funny how a good shove can save you from pulling your hair out and draining your wallet. 😅

Man, i know that feeling.. it's crazy how many times the most technical-looking problems turn out to be something simple like a loose connection. that's why when troubleshooting, i'd always try to rule out the basic ones!

cheers 🍻

Right? It's wild how a supposed sensor failure or software glitch can be a connector not fully seated. I spent too much time second-guessing the RDC module and almost replaced it before noticing the plug wasn't locked in. It's a good reminder to check basics before hunting complicated fixes. Have you experienced similar issues with other GS systems, or is RDC typically the issue? I'm watching it now, but so far, it's behaving as if nothing happened.

just sharing my experience about this. the most common ghost in the machine on a GS is usually a loose or corroded battery connection.
Because the bike's entire electrical system runs on the CAN Bus, a weak or intermittent connection at the battery can cause random fault lights, RDC issues, and even stalling.
It's always the first thing to check on any bizarre electrical issue

Reminder that the CAN Bus system can be sensitive to voltage changes. Since I reseated that connector, my RDC system has been working well, but I'll make sure to check my battery terminals regularly from now on.
