Goodday fellow dogs. I hope one of you can assist me. I own a 2008 GS 1200. The ABS and TC of my bike started to give problems in the sense that it cannot switch off any more.
What I've done/tried: Examine all the wires connected to the abs and the unit on the handle bar. Could not find anything. Connected the GS911 which indicated no fault. Took the bike to BMW and they had the bike on their machine. Still nothing. Anything else I can try? It is quite difficult to take the bike off road and negotiate loose gravel, steep technical climbs with TC on etc.
My last resort is just to sell the bike, but I don't think anybody would buy in it's current state.

Well you did take it to the dealership, but it's not uncommon for them to want to avoid messing with it and say that everything checks out, so let's try to find a solution.

You said you checked the wiring, but what about the switch itself? THe ground could also cause some similar problems, but it would cause more problems than just this one, so I'd start with the switch.

A friend had a similar issue and traced it to damaged wiring right at the control unit, right where the wires exit the housing. And yeahm, a faulty switch that wasn't registering the input. Maybe you need to get that area checked closely again.

Try a full ECU reset or reflashing the software can help, has that been tried? @Twinman also, check if the handlebar switch or wiring harness might have intermittent faults that don't trigger error codes.
