2014 BMW R1200RT final drive splines question

my dad gave me this awesome 2014 BMW R1200RT for my birthday, only has about 7,000 miles on it!

I'm trying to be a good owner and dive into some maintenance, specifically lubing the final drive splines.

But, uh, I've hit a major roadblock. The whole final drive just will not pivot down!

I'm pretty sure those splines are rusted and seized up in there. I've been dousing the area with penetrating fluid for like, days now, hoping it would magically loosen up, but no joy.

I'm totally at a loose end here, pulling my hair out!

Has anyone else dealt with a seized final drive on one of these? Any tips or tricks before I try something drastic? Thanks a ton!

When it happened, what finally worked for me was using a heat gun around the housing for a few minutes and then gently tapping the yoke with a rubber mallet. It easily came free after that.

Also, tapping lightly with a rubber mallet while applying fluid might encourage movement but if it still won't budge, it might need partial disassembly or professional help but yeah try out the heat stuff @500daysofspring talked about
