I just got from a 50-hour long-drive 2 weeks ago and it was fun especially when you do it near the coast. Then again, I don't know what happened but it probably tired my 2022 R1200R out. Because now, it's not starting at all. I did a change of oil already and realized it was quite low during and after the ride... but it was not at all close to being empty. So I'm not sure what to do. Was it wrong to take it to a long ride without checking?

Sounds like an awesome ride! But to answer your question, yep before a long trip it's a good idea to check oil along with everything else.

The issue could be with the battery or a random switch. If you're unsure how to check this, get your trusted mechanic to look into this for you. Let us know how it goes!

Sounds like an epic trip, but yeah, those long runs can catch you off guard if somethin's a little off. Don't beat yourself up though, it happens. First thing I'd check is the battery and connections, then maybe spark plugs if it cranks but won't fire. Keep us posted on what you find

quite an adventure! Long rides aren't necessarily bad but running an engine with insufficient oil can cause all sort of problems.. so the low oil level you discovered could definitely be the culprit! have you noticed other symptoms, like strange sounds or warning lights before it stopped starting? Maybe check your battery voltage or fuses with a multimeter?

cheers 🍻
