Anyone had their front forks on a BMW R1200r 2017 ESA lock up? I have been able to confirm that the problem is in the right ESA leg as I have removed both of them to check them out. Tried changing the oil & seals on both legs but no improvement The rear suspension works well (raises & lowers via the appropriate commands), but the front forks are tight. Not sure whether it is a computer, wiring or fork issue. The right fork moves well on its own so I dont know where to look. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well if the right fork moves freely off the bike but locks up installed, its most likely an ESA actuator or wiring issue. Check for error codes and test the ESA motor and wiring

Have you checked the connectors or scanned for any fault codes? Sometimes a flaky sensor can throw things off without a full failure.

My friend's '18 R1200GS experienced some odd behavior with the front ESA, and it turned out the problem was a bent mounting tab on the ESA motor, which was causing it to stick. Another acquaintance discovered that his issue stemmed from a corroded pin inside the main ESA connector close to the triple clamp. It's definitely a good idea to take a close look at the wiring for any crimps or breaks once you've taken it apart.

If the right ESA fork moves freely off the bike but locks up when installed, it could be an issue with the ESA actuator or internal damping control, possibly electrical or sensor-related like they say

I think you're right. It can be a wiring or fork issue. Try running a diagnostic first, just to make sure. I use GS911 for this, but Motoscan is great, too.
I agree about the wiring. based on my experience, we need to double check all the wiring and connectors going into the right ESA fork leg
Look for any pinched wires, corrosion, or loose pins. A wonky signal from the computer won't let the internal ESA valve/motor function right
